As Life Carries On…

As a child, my family was constantly moving due to my dad’s occupation. It was very hard for me at the time because I never had a chance to make real, long-lasting friends. To make things even worse, we always decided to move a couple of weeks or days before my birthday. Every time it reached my special day, I barely had any time to make new friends and overcome the “new kid” status so I pretty much celebrated it alone each year. I was a very outgoing child which made making friends not too much of a struggle. It was the fact that I was scared to make friends which challenged me. I was scared to become so close to others then later on find out that I would have to abandon them. As time went on, my dad finally found a secure position. By this time I was around 9 years old. I was very different from who I was before…I was never the same happy and outgoing little girl. I became stubbornly shy and quiet. It took Carrie (who led all the other girls) to approach me and welcome me. It wasn’t long till we all connected where finally met my very best friends. We were inseparable all throughout the rest of elementary, until we hit high school. In the beginning we were considered “popular.” Everyone knew us. But then as new people came into our lives our group suddenly faded and we ended up excluding one person from our infinite friendship. As time went on, I realized that I wasn’t the person I wanted to be. So I left the group and I became a stepping stone for Carrie who got excluded beforehand. We became best friends after that and I wouldn’t want to change anything. Although my luck with friendships as a child were little to none, I feel like I finally hit the jackpot and scored a friendship worth more than a million.

Jane.

As I’m new to tumblr, I wanted to explain my name. No my name is not actually Jane. I wanted this blog to be completely anonymous, therefore I chose a screen name. Thinking of the name was rather challenging but then it came to me. Throughout my childhood, I’ve ran into hundreds if not thousands of short stories with lead female characters named Jane. Jane was such a common name for girls around the world that I thought it would be great to use as my screen name. I not only wanted this blog to affect me but I want it to be able to reach out to all the young women in this world. This blog is promised to be completely honest so I thought I would share that bit of info with all of you. :)
